SteelSeries Apex Gaming Keyboard Review
I started playing MMOs a few years ago and fell in love. I learned really quickly that using a wireless keyboard was a bad idea. There is a lag and sometimes the buttons you hit do not actually work and it can cause you to die or wipe a raid, and that can just not happen. At least not for anyone that is really into their gaming like I am. I figure why do it if you do not have fun and why do tough dungeons or raids if you are not going to do your best. Sometimes no matter how hard you try, your hardware gives you away.
I love SteelSeries so much and they have awesome products, such as the Apex Gaming Keyboard. This thing has so many buttons for someone such as myself it was a bit intimidating, I have never used an actual gaming keyboard. I know weird right? I was using the wired keyboard that came with my PC, and the change as HUGE. I thought I was good before, talk about mediocre.
So with all the intimidating buttons, they turned out to be quiet easy to use and bring into your life. So there are 22 macros, but there are 4 layers to the keyboard. So in all there are 88 macros! One great thing about the keyboard is that it lights up, great to see in the dark. Though there are literally millions of color combinations you can use. So with that each layer is different colors to help you know which layer you are on. Not just that each of the 5 zones of the keyboard can be a different color so without looking down you just know where you are on the keyboard. This is all customizable through the SteelSeries Engine you should download when hooking up the keyboard.
There are also a set of independent media keys that have come in real handy for me. I like to listen to music when I am working and sometimes it is just easier to use those buttons then try to get to the window and mess with it. So I have really enjoyed that so much.
This is just a wonderful keyboard for anyone. I have played a few games with it and I have noticed the ease in which I play now. I can do multiple things at once and I love it.
