Double Birthday 2016!
Today my oldest turns 11. Hard to believe 11 years ago today I was induced to have our beautiful baby girl because of my high blood pressure. It was a blessing really, when she was born the umbilical cord was wrapped around her neck twice. Doctor said we were lucky she was born when she was. Everything happens for a reason! Now I have a beautiful, funny, artistic, creative, happy and healthy 11 year old girl. She came in my life when I needed her the most and I have tried everyday to be the mother she deserves to have.
The story is kinda funny, because the day she was born my husband turned 21. So the way I see it, I gave him the best gift of his life on his birthday. He gets to share it every year with her. It is also quiet funny because he does not even mind that she outshines him on his day too. They share a cake, though some years we have two cakes, and her presents are always way neater than his. Though every year he gets the fanciest video game edition of his choosing and those things are not cheap either.
Our youngest Bug, she did not fully understand the fact Daddy & Sissy got presents and she didn’t. I did go out and hit up our local Dollar General and got her a coloring book and some crayons and paid $2. I even put them in a bag we already had with some tissue paper we also, already had. She opened it up and was so excited. Best $2 I ever spent… until the big presents came out for our oldest.
We got her a Hatchimal. She had been begging for months, and I figured it was the best thing to get her. Little did I know, those things are freaking expensive! She is currently now trying to get it to hatch and the look on her face was worth this things weight in gold. She screamed in excitement, and that is all a mother can really ask for. During the hatching process it malfunctioned and we spent about an hour on customer service, she missed out on the hatching experience. For me that was so sad, but the company did offer us a game to make up for the disappointment.
Now that the draggle is hatched, and finally working again, she is having a lot of fun with it. She did say “Why are you so needy?” however she loves it. While it is taking a nap she is the packages of the DC Super Hero Girl dolls we got her and we got her a few Monster High dolls she wanted. She had cake for breakfast and is getting my homemade Potaoe and Rival soup that she loves, it is also my husband’s favorite so I got lucky there.
My husband was also fairly spoiled. We got him a few random things he enjoys and on the 11th I am getting him the special edition of WatchDogs 2 he wants. The games he usually wants for his birthday, usually are released after the day of his birth. He never seems to mind and I think he likes the idea of having a moment that is just his, that he does not have to share. Today is about my family, half of us have birthdays today. The other half enjoy spring as their time of birth.
I am one incredibly lucky lady, even in the chaos that is life, my family make me who I am.
