Despicable Me 2 Review

I love movies and have spent a good portion of my life watching them. I prefer books, but it is like a book in action sometimes. I really enjoy movies that get my kids really engaged and we can snuggle and watch a delightful family friendly movie together. My family is the reason for my existence and I cherish every moment with them and love it when something can bring us together as often as possible. I, myself, couldn’t wait to see Despicable Me 2!

One of our favorite movies, that has been watched so much we almost wore the DVD out, is Despicable Me. It was a heartwarming story and brought happy tears to all of us. It had the perfect ending so we never had unanswered questions, so when we heard Despicable Me 2 was coming out I wondered how they could continue an already fantastic story.

I was truly not disappointed! I rounded up the kids, warm blankets and some popcorn and we settled in to watch it. I will try my best to not give away any spoilers, but it is a great story. I found that it hit some amazing points like not wanting your kids to ever grow up, and trying to make sure that any romantic interests have a hard time sticking around!

Gru has resigned as a villain and is now retired and a family man. You follow his story as he sees that the girls are growing up and he wants to stop it, and the girls want Gru to find love. I laughed so hard I cried and I cried happy tears as well. It is a touching story and I think it will get as much wear on the DVD as the first one did!

I think this would make an excellent stocking stuffer or gift under the tree this year for anyone that loved the first Despicable Me. It is cute and funny and who doesn’t love the minions?
